Douglas County jail employee charged with letting inmates use her phone in exchange for footrubs

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A Douglas County Department of Corrections staff member has been arrested after she helped inmates communicate with others outside jail by letting them use her phone, according to authorities.

Heather Robinson, 38, was booked into jail on five counts of allowing a committed offender to have unauthorized communication – a felony.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office issued a statement Monday that an investigation revealed Robinson allowed an inmate in part of the GED program to use her phone during one-on-one instruction.
