St. Louis couple suspected of targeting elderly woman with lottery scam arrested in Omaha

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A husband and wife have arrested as suspects in a criminal conspiracy targeting an elderly woman after a law enforcement investigation involving Douglas County and Homeland Security personnel.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Wednesday morning that Kerwin Kerr, 46, and Shanna Kerr, 44, both from East Saint Louis, were taken into custody during an operation conducted at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the area of 129th Street and West Maple Road in Omaha.

Investigators said the Kerrs targeted the victim after finding the elderly woman on social media.

“The profile made her appear as a single vulnerable adult with wealth,” DCSO said in the release…
