2nd boy dies in crash that split car in two; suspect remains in jail

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The second of two boys who were injured in a crash allegedly caused by a man driving while intoxicated has died, according to authorities.

Police confirmed the death of the 5-year-old on Wednesday. A 10-year-old who was also injured in the crash passed away Friday. The children are brothers.

Investigators said Tanner Hunt, 28, of Elkhorn, was allegedly driving while intoxicated when he struck a car carrying the children and two adults on Thursday at 114th and Center Streets.

Hunt is charged with motor vehicle homicide and DUI causing serious bodily injury. As of Wednesday night he remains at Douglas County Corrections on $10 million bond…
