Three men sentenced to federal prison for meth bust at South Omaha short-term rental

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A federal judge sentenced three men to 14 years each in prison in connection with a methamphetamine operation at a South Omaha Airbnb, a case that first broke in January 2025.

Ricardo Gutierrez-Castillo, of North Carolina, along with Eric Luviano-Cabrera and Heleodoro Luviano-Castillo — both described as being in the United States illegally from Mexico — were charged in the case.

What the Airbnb owners reported

The owners of the Airbnb reported to investigators that their renters were bringing in large pots and pans, bags of what appeared to be salt, and fans. Security camera video captured some of that activity.

Investigators later observed someone move two large totes from the Airbnb into a car. Police found more than 70 pounds of methamphetamine inside those totes.
