COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — A suspect is in custody after a woman was shot while driving on Interstate 80 in Council Bluffs on Monday afternoon, according to police.
The Council Bluffs Police Department said officers responded to Nebraska Medicine after a woman arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Investigators said the woman reported she was traveling westbound on Interstate 80 near South 24th Street when another vehicle pulled alongside hers.
According to police, several shots were fired from the other vehicle. Two bullets struck the victim’s cell phone, while another hit her in the shoulder. After the shooting, the woman drove to a friend’s home, and the friend transported her to the hospital…
