OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Omaha City Council introduced two bond ordinances that could appear on the November ballot — a $155 million measure to build a new public safety headquarters and a $30 million measure to complete Tranquility Park.
Tranquility Park
The $30 million park and recreation bond represents the final piece of funding needed to complete Tranquility Park. The full project carries a price tag of approximately $68 million, with most of that money already secured.
The completed park would include up to 16 soccer fields capable of hosting regional and potentially national tournaments.
“It was a 68-million-ish project with about 16 soccer fields that we could host regional and potentially national tournaments — the mayor says everybody was tired of all the Omaha teams going off to other cities so they could play each other.
