OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man driving on Omaha streets Monday afternoon is facing serious charges after allegedly opening fire on another driver in a road rage incident.
Nathan Hess, 38, made his first court appearance Tuesday. A Douglas County judge outlined the charges.
“Second-degree assault — that’s a Class 2A felony. It is punishable by up to two years in prison. You’re also being charged with use of a deadly weapon, a firearm, to commit a felony. That’s a Class 1C felony that is punishable by a mandatory five years in prison, up to 50 years in prison,” the judge said.
What happened
Prosecutors told the court that Hess and another driver were arguing over reckless driving on West Center Road. The two pulled up next to each other at a stoplight, argued and exchanged gestures…
