Workers in Omaha’s Old Market speak out about Sunday gun battle

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A shooting police called a “gun battle” sent people running for cover early Sunday morning in the Old Market.

The intersection of 12th and Howard was calm Sunday afternoon, with people shopping and eating, about 21 hours after what businesses described as a chaotic scene overnight.

Business owners react

David Timperley has worked in the Old Market for close to 40 years. He said the situation is worsening.

“It’s getting worse and worse every year. I mean, as somebody that’s a part of the Old Market family, we hate violence,” Timperley said…
