OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Yellow police tape wrapped around one of Omaha’s largest tourist attractions is not a good look.
In the daylight, changes are visible in how police are working to make the Old Market safer, including a larger police presence, more cameras in the area and assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol.
The city’s approach
Omaha Mayor John Ewing says staffing levels are being adjusted to address problem areas.
“We’re also always looking at making sure we have the appropriate staffing at hot spots, and they’re doing a great job with that as well,” Ewing said.
