Every time Heather Campbell and her family move, she has to find a new vet, car shop, pediatrician and grocery store. They’ve moved four times in the last five years, the most recent move happening this summer to Mississippi. Campbell is from Nebraska originally, and went to college in Lincoln.
“I have a grocery store that I love, and we left it. That’s a lot when you need to go pick up something at the store, and you don’t know this store keeps peanut butter and jelly with the Little Debbie snack cakes,” Campbell said. “That’s not where I was looking for peanut butter and jelly, and it’s something that small that you’re like, in weeks and weeks since we’ve moved, I just want something to feel familiar.”
And every time they move, Campbell and her husband, who is an officer in the Air Force, have to figure out childcare. Now that her kids are 10, 12 and 13 years old, it’s a little easier. When they were younger though, Campbell said she sacrificed working at one point because there weren’t many childcare options and it was better for her family if she stayed home…
