OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The Nebraska DMV says it is not aware of any schools in the state impacted by a federal order shutting down nearly 300 truck driving schools across the country.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced the enforcement action Monday.
His office claimed more than 5,000 drivers linked to those schools failed English proficiency tests. Federal officials claim some of the schools handed out licenses to drivers who couldn’t read English road signs.
