Interstate 29 crash south of St. Joseph injures Omaha woman

A two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on Interstate 29 south of St. Joseph resulted in minor injuries for one driver.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred April 30, 2026, at 3:05 p.m. in Buchanan County, about five miles south of St. Joseph near the 41-mile marker. Both vehicles were traveling southbound on Interstate 29 when the crash occurred.

According to the report, a 2024 Nissan Altima began braking in traffic. A 2010 Toyota Prius traveling behind also began braking and skidded, with the front of the Prius striking the rear of the Altima. After the impact, the Altima traveled off the west side of the roadway and came to rest on its wheels facing east. The Prius crossed the centerline and came to rest on its wheels facing south, blocking the southbound passing lane…
