Public invited to honor deceased Omaha veterans without known survivors

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Eight area veterans with no known surviving family members will be honored at the Omaha National Cemetery on Tuesday afternoon.

Patriot Guard Riders will provide an escort in honor of the local deceased veterans with no known family, known as “unaccompanied veterans,” ahead of the ceremony, slated for 3:30 p.m.

Riders will travel from 144th Street and Cornhusker Road, just south of Interstate 80, to the cemetery. They plan to head out at about 2:15 p.m. and arrive at the cemetery at about 2:45 p.m., providing flags for the flag line shortly thereafter…
