Man makes first court appearance after turning himself in to Bellevue Police

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A sexual assault suspect believed to have been hiding in the Omaha metro made his first court appearance on Friday.

Brian Ward, 44, was formally charged with a total of ten counts, including three counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child and one count of third-degree sexual assault of a child.

A judge decided Friday that Ward would be held on a $1 million bond and he would appear back in court for a preliminary hearing on June 11.

Investigators say the two victims are 13 and 16 years old now, but the alleged sexual assaults happened over a five-year span, starting when the girls were in elementary school…
