American infected with Ebola, 6 others at risk as CDC restricts travel

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – The CDC confirmed an Ebola case Monday involving an American who was working in the Democratic Republic of Congo when symptoms appeared over the weekend. A test came back positive late Sunday.

The CDC is moving that person, along with six high-risk contacts, to Germany. Flight times from the region are shorter there, and specialized care is already in place.

The CDC is restricting entry for non-citizens who have been in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda or South Sudan in the last 21 days. Airports nationwide are ramping up screening…
