OPPD employee accused of bribery appears in court

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A senior account manager with OPPD was in court Wednesday to face charges.

Steve Arora, 46, faces two felony counts involving an attemp to bribe a woman into dropping sexual assault charges against his father, in exchange for reducing her rent, according to court records.

Arora is facing two charges: tampering with a witness or informant and bribery of a witness. If convicted, each charge carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.

His preliminary hearing is set for June 23. In the meantime, he has been released on his own recognizance. Arora was booked into Douglas County Corrections on Monday after turning himself in, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office…
