Man sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for meth, firearms charges from Omaha arrest

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – A man who was in the country illegally was sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute meth and possession of a short-barreled rifle in furtherance of drug trafficking.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nebraska said Alexi Zamora-Chona, 30, was sentenced May 19 to a total of 192 months’ imprisonment.

There is no parole in the federal system. After release from prison, he will begin a four-year term of supervised release…
