Orlando man indicted for mortgage and pandemic loan fraud

TAMPA, Florida — Yan Daniel Inclan Hernandez, a 32-year-old from Orlando, has been indicted on charges of making a false statement to a financial institution and wire fraud.

Hernandez faces up to 30 years in federal prison for each count if convicted, according to United States Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe. The indictment also seeks forfeiture of $157,500, the alleged proceeds of the criminal conduct.

The indictment alleges that in September 2021, Hernandez falsely claimed $12,350 in monthly income on a mortgage loan application, influencing the approval of a $411,350 loan used to purchase property in Orlando. Additionally, between May 2020 and August 2021, Hernandez allegedly engaged in a scheme to fraudulently obtain Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans and an Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) by overstating financial information, according to the press release…
