A 37-year-old Orlando woman has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after her vehicle left the roadway and came to rest on railroad tracks in Hillsborough County during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Reported by Tampa Bay 28, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident happened at approximately 1:20 a.m. on State Road 39 near Hunter Road. Troopers said Daribeth Alvarado Navia was travelling southbound in a Honda Accord when she lost control of the vehicle.
Investigators have not disclosed the circumstances that caused the driver to lose control. The Florida Highway Patrol has not released any further information about the events leading up to the crash.
Vehicle Leaves Road Before Coming To Rest
After losing control, the Honda struck several trash cans before leaving the roadway, according to FHP. The vehicle then travelled through a roadside ditch before coming to rest on nearby railroad tracks.
