Downtown Shakeup: Chef’s Table And Tasting Room Quit Edgewater For Bond Building

Two of downtown Winter Garden’s best-known dining rooms are on the move, but they are not leaving the neighborhood. The Chef’s Table and its sister spot, The Tasting Room, are set to relocate from their longtime home inside the Edgewater Hotel to the historic Bond Building at 2 and 12 W. Plant St., just a short walk away. The Tasting Room is headed for the corner space at 2 W. Plant, with The Chef’s Table taking the adjoining spot at 12 W. Plant. Both will keep serving at the Edgewater until the switch and are expected to reopen in their new digs in mid-2027.

The relocation was first reported by the Orlando Business Journal, which noted that the move is meant to give both concepts room to grow while keeping the core team and feel that regulars know. General Manager Alicia Havard told the outlet, “Our guests will see the same familiar faces and the same experience they’ve trusted for years.”

What’s Changing Inside the Bond Building

Plans for the Bond Building call for a significantly larger kitchen, expanded dining rooms for both restaurants, multiple private dining and event spaces upstairs, and more covered outdoor seating, according to PR Newswire. The release notes that the Bond Building, originally the Dillard & Boyd Building, built in 1912, is the oldest brick structure in Winter Garden’s historic district. The new design is slated to keep that century-old character intact while quietly adding the modern infrastructure needed to handle a busier operation.
