A flight delay is never fun. Most of us handle it by scrolling our phones, complaining quietly to the person next to us, or eyeing the snack cart like it owes us money. Whitney Lynn, a 40-year-old evangelist from Orlando, handled hers a little differently. She stood up in the aisle and started preaching.
The incident happened on July 30 aboard Alaska Airlines Flight 708, reported Anchorage Daily News, which was sitting at the gate at Orlando International Airport waiting to head to San Diego. According to Lynn, she got up during the delay and delivered a message in just under a minute, telling fellow passengers that even though the wait was frustrating, the timing was part of a bigger plan and might even be sparing everyone from danger. Whatever you think about the message, you have to admit that’s a bold way to pass the time on the tarmac.
It didn’t go over well with the flight crew, PEOPLE stated. Alaska Airlines said its crew grew increasingly concerned about a passenger’s behavior, which was also affecting other guests on board.
