OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – An Osceola County judge on Thursday ruled that Ahmad Bojeh is mentally competent to stand trial for the triple murder of three Ohio tourists.
Two court-appointed psychiatrists have found Bojeh competent to proceed, despite his claims of mental illness. Court records show both doctors concluded in June that Bojeh was exaggerating or fabricating psychiatric symptoms. One psychiatrist wrote that Bojeh, who reported hearing voices, appeared to be presenting himself as incompetent to avoid prosecution.
