Orange County wiped out medical debt for thousands of local residents. In the third wave of the largest medical debt-relief initiative in Florida’s history, Orange County has eliminated another $43 million in healthcare related financial burdens for 42,000 residents.
Through a partnership with the national nonprofit Undue Medical Debt, and funding from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), Orange County has relieved a total of $559 million in medical debt, impacting 345,000 local residents in Central Florida.
