Downtown Manhattan Sinkers Lounge Shuts Its Doors, Leaving Late‑Night Crowd In The Lurch

Sinkers Lounge, the indoor mini-golf and cocktail bar that opened in downtown Manhattan in November 2023, has closed, according to a June 5 Facebook post from the venue’s former general manager. The sudden shutdown has left some customers and event organizers scrambling for refunds and answers, since online reservations remained live even as the putters reportedly went back on the rack. The Manhattan Town Center spot had been a regular late-night option for students and local residents.

Closure Announced By Former GM

Anna Amsden Stevens, who ran the Manhattan location, posted on June 5 that the business was shutting down and urged customers to stop making online bookings. As reported by The Mercury, Stevens wrote, “Please do not do online bookings as the site has not been closed down,” and asked patrons who needed refunds to get in touch.

Part Of A Regional Entertainment Group

Sinkers is part of Swell Spark, a Kansas City-based entertainment company that also operates Blade & Timber axe-throwing venues and Breakout KC escape rooms, according to the company website. The Manhattan location came in as part of a broader expansion that included Kansas City and Lawrence, with local coverage noting a grand opening set for Nov. 10, 2023.
