KCPD: Suspect detained after killing on Father’s Day

KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a homicide that occurred on Father’s Day in Kansas City.

Just before 1a.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a shooting in the 11500 block of Belmont in Kansas City, Missouri, according to KCPD Captain Jake Becchina.

On arrival officers located an adult male shooting victim in front of a residence there, unresponsive, inside a car. Officers rendered aid until EMS arrived and took over treatment. EMS transported the victim to the hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries…
