When bartender Diana Condori isn’t receiving James Beard nominations and starting new cocktail businesses, she’s consistently looking for the restaurants and bars around Kansas City that “do it right.”
“Kansas City is a foodie town,” Condori said. “You’ll never be able to eat at every place because one opens, then one closes. But it’s a good thing, too — there are people who are really excited to bring what they have to offer to the city.”
But “doing it right” isn’t just reserved for the new school, according to Condori. She may execute some of the city’s best tiki cocktails and enjoy a specialty drink or well-done dirty martini, but more often than not she’s ordering a beer and a shot at a KCK dive.
Further showcasing the duality of a Kansas City foodie, this James Beard nominee loves chowing down on a greasy-spoon American diner breakfast as much as she desires an evening of slurping back oysters…
