Grand Fiesta Parade draws thousands as Pensacola marks 467 years since De Luna’s arrival

PENSACOLA, Fla. — Thousands of Pensacolians swarmed downtown Friday night for the Grand Fiesta Parade, celebrating the city’s 467th year of history.

Spectators lined Garden Street hours before the first float went by, hoping to catch some goodies.

“My favorite part is usually when the pirates in the fiesta court come,” attendee Tripp Caldwell said. “They throw really good stuff, like tomahawks and teddy bears.”…
