Pensacola doctor warns Gulf Coast heat can turn dangerous fast as temps climb

PENSACOLA, Fla. — As temperatures climb across the Gulf Coast, doctors say this is when heat-related illnesses can become dangerous fast.

Dr. Brian Steiner of Baptist Medical Group Primary Care – Live Oak reminds people prevention is the key to staying healthy in the heat.

“Prevention, drink plenty of water, but drink to thirst more than anything,” he said. “Very important things like wearing light clothing, wearing a hat, trying to avoid being outside and peak activities doing chores.”…
