PENSACOLA, Fla. — A celebration was held for patients saved by extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) on Tuesday night at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.
It’s a life support system for heart or lung failure patients and provides oxygen to the blood while the body heals. The event brought together 26 patients, their families, and caregivers.
“I mean, we know as caregivers what kind of impact we’re having,” said Kristin Morgan, ECMO program nurse manager. “But this really sends it home and solidifies that, you know, every day that we work tirelessly and just give our all.”…
