The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a double shooting that left one dead and another hospitalized.
The incident occurred shortly before 11 a.m. June 10 at Hotel Del Sol on U.S. Highway 29, south of the Interstate 10 interchange.
“We got a report of shots fired in the area of the Del Sol Hotel, which is on Highway 29,” Sheriff Chip Simmons said. “What we were able to determine was one male who was suffering gunshot wounds left a hotel room and ran around to the front and ended up at a vacant building, which used to be the Burger King. That’s where he was treated. Ultimately, he went to the hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.”…
