Bond set for suspect accused of firing a gun, hiding in cow pasture during chase

ATMORE, Ala. (WALA) – A judge has set bond at $500,000 for the Pensacola man accused of firing a gun during a police chase in Atmore, denying prosecutors’ request to hold him without bond under Alabama’s Aniah’s Law.

30-year-old Dyllan Thompson is charged with attempted murder, attempting to elude law enforcement and several drug-related offenses after investigators say he fired a gun during a pursuit that ended when his vehicle became stuck in a cow pasture near the end of Martin Luther King Drive.

Prosecutors argued Thompson should be held without bond under Aniah’s Law. Alabama voters recently expanded the law to include attempted murder among the offenses that can qualify a defendant to be held without bond before trial if a judge determines the person poses a danger to the community or a flight risk…
