Okaloosa and Santa Rosa deputies join Operation Southern Slow Down speed crackdown

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in Okaloosa County and Santa Rosa County should expect to see more deputies on the roads as part of a regional crackdown on speeding aimed at preventing deadly crashes.

Starting Monday, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office are joining law enforcement agencies across Florida and the Southeastern United States for Operation Southern Slow Down, a week-long campaign running through July 18.
