PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) – A 70-year-old man from Robertsdale, Alabama, was found guilty by a federal jury of attempted enticement of a minor, traveling in interstate commerce for the purpose of illicit sexual conduct and committing a felony involving a minor while being a registered sex offender.
David Girard was convicted on all three counts in federal court in Florida.
Investigators say Girard began communicating in October last year with someone he believed was a 14-year-old child. He described sexual acts he wanted to perform on the child and arranged to meet in Pensacola. When Girard traveled to meet the purported child, he was arrested by law enforcement…
