Santa Rosa County deputies arrest 3 during ‘Drive Sober’ initiative

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is one of the many departments across Florida enforcing the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” initiative.

“We have an influx of law enforcement across the state are out there just to have a show and to discourage anybody that may have thoughts of driving while intoxicated,” Santa Rosa County Chief Deputy Randy Tifft said.

Since the campaign began on Aug. 19, the sheriff’s office has already arrested three people for driving under the influence.

“It’s an expensive charge,” said Chief Tifft. “We want everybody to know that it can cost up to $10,000 if you get caught and get arrested for it. So, it’s expensive to them, but it also endangers the citizens of Florida, so it’s a big deal to us.”…
