Pensacola man sentenced for illegal weapon charge

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola man has been sentenced in federal court after pleading guilty to a weapon charge, according to U.S. Attorney John P. Heekin.

According to a news release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida, Isaiah Markeis Sims, 23, was sentenced to 27 months for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

According to court documents, in August 2025, law enforcement made a traffic stop for a vehicle in which Sims was a passenger.
