Pensacola man sentenced for threatening police detective

PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A Pensacola man has been sentenced to prison time after he threatened a Pensacola Police Department detective.

According to a Department of Justice news release, 20-year-old Tamal W. Jenkins was sentenced to 20 months in prison for threatening communication with intent to extort.

The release said that in July 2025, PPD detectives arrested suspects in a homicide investigation and within a couple of days, one of the detectives received a text message threatening to kill her if she did not release the suspects…
