ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A remembrance ceremony was held Monday for Escambia County Sheriff’s deputies killed in the line of duty, honoring the lives of the 16 deputies and two K-9s that were killed, ranging from 2025 back to 1893.

“Every day [these families] live with a loss, some for five years, some for 45 years,” Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said.
