Shooting incident blocks from Norristown school lands 2 men in prison

NORRISTOWN — Two men, one from Norristown and the other from Philadelphia, alleged members of a hybrid street gang, were sent to prison for up to 16 years for their roles in a shooting incident near a Norristown school.

Jhalil Allen, 27, of the 2000 block of East Clearfield Street, Philadelphia, was sentenced in Montgomery County Court to 8 to 16 years in a state correctional facility after he pleaded guilty to charges of aggravated assault, persons not to possess firearms and recklessly endangering other persons in connection with the Feb. 10, 2025, shooting incident on Stanbridge Street, just blocks away from Blockson Middle School which is located in the 1300 block of West Marshall Street.

Authorities alleged Allen fired multiple gunshots at an unidentified male who was in the area right around the time students were being dismissed from the school. With the aggravated assault charge, authorities alleged Allen attempted to cause serious bodily injury to an unidentified male, who fled the scene, and it’s unknown if he suffered injuries…
