FloatLab glides to its home on the Schuylkill ahead of Sept. opening

PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The city’s newest public space, FloatLab, is like walking on water.

The 75-foot-wide, highlighter-yellow circular platform traveled all the way from North Carolina, and arrived at its home on the Schuylkill River Wednesday morning.

Designed by artist J. Meejin Yoon and Höweler + Yoon Architecture in conjunction with Bartram’s Garden and Mural Arts Philadelphia, the structure is a public space where you can walk along the circular path and get a unique, water’s-eye view of the river.
