Police: Injured man arrives at Philly hospital in bullet-ridden vehicle

An investigation is underway, police said, after a man arrived at a Philly hospital overnight in a bullet-ridden vehicle after he had been critically injured in a shooting that happened near a rec. center in East Germantown.

According to Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small, the incident unfolded at about 12:39 a.m. on Friday as officers arrived to the scene of a reported gunfire along the 5600 block of Ardleigh Street to find evidence of a shooting but no victim.

Small said that, at the scene, investigating officers discovered a pool of blood and, at least, 17 spent shell casings…
