Camden County Police Department and elected officials crack down on illegal dumping in Camden

On Wednesday, Commissioner Jennifer Cooley Fleisher joined Chief Gabriel Rodriguez, Mayor Victor Carstarphen and other city leaders to discuss the continued effort to crack down on illegal dumping. On an annual basis, Camden City spends more than $4.5 million cleaning up illegal dumping throughout the city.

“Every illegal dumping site is a potential threat to the health and safety of the community around it,” said Commissioner Jennifer Cooley Fleisher. “Our residents should not have to worry about hazardous materials, pests or contaminated areas in the places where they live, work and raise their families.”

The CCPD’s eye in the sky network, in conjunction with the CCPD drone unit has helped to identify those who are illegally dumping waste throughout the city. Additionally, anonymous community tips submitted through the StopIt App have helped provide crucial information to detectives…
