YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — A York County high school police officer was injured after being allegedly assaulted by a student Thursday, district officials said.
The York City School District said in an updated statement that the situation at William Penn High School, located along W College Avenue, was “promptly addressed.” A District School Police officer was hurt after trying to de-escalate the incident.
There is no safety concern to the school or community, the district said.

“We are aware of information circulating on social media regarding a student altercation that occurred at William Penn today,” the statement reads. “The situation was promptly addressed by school administration and District School Police. During the incident, a District School Police officer and security monitor was involved and sustained an injury after attempting to de-escalate the situation. There is no ongoing safety concern to the school community.
