Community members honor family killed in East Lansdowne with balloon release

YEADON, Pa. (KYW Newsradio) — Hundreds of friends, loved ones and neighbors came together Saturday to honor the family lost in Wednesday’s fire and shooting in East Lansdowne.

With the release of hundreds of pink and blue balloons into the gray sky above Yeadon Community Park, friends and family remembered the Le family. One of them was Tanya Harris. Harris knew the family through her sister, who worked with Xuong Le. She met Xuong’s wife Britni when they were both bridesmaids in her sister’s wedding.

“She was always really, really friendly… someone you feel comfortable and trustworthy to talk to, even about personal things,” Harris realled, while also expressing her admiration for them as parents.

“Proactive parents, very involved in all their kids’ lives. Very, very good people that you can rely on and trust.”

Xuong and Britni Le, along with their three children, died Wednesday after the shooting and fire at their East Lansdowne home. Police recovered the bodies of all five family members in the days following the incident, as well as the body of Xuong’s brother Cahn Van Le.
