Crossing guard eats ice cream while recounting harrowing crash at school playground, goes viral

A stolen work truck crashed into another vehicle and overturned at an elementary school playground in Philadelphia’s Kingsessing neighborhood on the afternoon of May 5. The crash occurred near S. Weir Mitchell Elementary School on 5500 Kingsessing Avenue.

Jamele Ransom, a crossing guard who witnessed the crash, told NBC10, “He ran the red light, t-boned the lady. I’m bobbing and weaving. I’m just thankful. Thankful to be alive right now. Thank you Jesus.”

According to Ransom, he quickly intervened to rescue a child who was trapped inside one of the vehicles following the collision…
