On June 23, 2026, Phoenix firefighters knocked down a large exterior blaze near 30th Street and Thomas Road after flames spread to an SUV and a small nearby home. Power lines fell close to several houses, and utility crews were called in while firefighters worked to contain the fire and shield neighboring properties.

According to the Phoenix Fire Department, crews described the call as a large exterior fire that reached a vehicle and a small residence. The department’s initial update also noted downed power lines near multiple homes and said Salt River Project crews were on scene.
