Valley heat intensifies: Extreme Heat Watch coming Tuesday

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — After a pleasant Fourth of July with typical summer warmth, the Valley is bracing for dangerously hot conditions as a strong ridge of high pressure builds in from the east.

Temperatures will climb back into the 110s on Sunday, putting us slightly above average for early July. But that’s just the beginning. As clouds clear and high pressure strengthens, expect scorching heat to dominate the forecast through midweek.
