I-10 reopens after pedestrian hit, killed in Avondale

AVONDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A major freeway is back open after a pedestrian was struck and killed in the West Valley early Friday morning.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to the pedestrian-involved crash just after 1:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Avondale Boulevard. Troopers say a man was struck multiple times and died at the scene.

The eastbound lanes of I-10 were closed throughout the early morning hours but reopened before 7 a.m.
