A Goodyear charter school teacher was arrested Tuesday after police said he admitted to possessing and sharing child sexual abuse material online following an investigation that began with a CyberTip submitted to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Samuel Durham Cooper, 39, was booked into the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office on three felony counts of sexual exploitation of a minor after Goodyear police served a search warrant at his apartment in the 15400 block of West Roosevelt Street on Aug. 4. According to court records, Cooper faces one Class 1 felony count and two Class 2 felony counts under Arizona law.
The Goodyear Police Department said the investigation began after detectives were assigned a CyberTip from the Arizona Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
