Bruno Mars concerts at State Farm Stadium expected to snarl Glendale traffic

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Bruno Mars’ The Romantic Tour stops at State Farm Stadium in Glendale for two nights — Tuesday and Wednesday — and police are warning West Valley commuters to expect heavy traffic and road closures during the evening rush.

Glendale police said both shows are expected to draw near-capacity crowds, with gates and pre-show arrivals likely creating the biggest congestion from 4 to 7 p.m. The concerts are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. each night.

Police plan to use the same traffic plan typically deployed for Arizona Cardinals home games. That includes closures near the stadium such as Maryland Avenue and Cardinals Way, authorities said.

“Pre-plan before you get here,” Sgt. Bryan Hoskin said. “But also have that patience because it will be busy.”…
