Deadly Route 66 Crash Stuns Washington Township Crossroads

One person was killed, and another was seriously hurt, Saturday in a violent crash along Route 66 at Mamont Drive in Washington Township, Westmoreland County, according to officials. The cause of the collision has not yet been determined, and local responders remained on scene as the investigation got underway.

Emergency crews were called to the busy intersection, where one person was pronounced dead at the scene and another was rushed to a local trauma center, according to WTAE. The station reported that officials released a photo showing a heavily damaged truck and another vehicle, and noted that Murrysville Medic One said on Facebook that its crews had been dispatched to the wreck at Route 66 and Mamont Drive.
